I received this thanks to Goodread’s giveaway。I have to say this is a pretty great plant based recipe book。 The cover is fantastic, as it’s in hardback。 The recipes are so fun and easy。 I’ve already tried a few and enjoyed them, and I plan to try more very soon。 As a vegetarian, it feels good to have a cookbook with such simple recipes to follow。 I am very impressed with this one! Even if you’re not a plant eater, you will enjoy these recipes。

These recipes are not my style。 Mostly things I picture being on a Midwestern church potluck table。 I’ve never wanted to eat tuna noodle casserole, clam chowder, or Italian wedding soup。 I also won’t put most commercial plant-based meat substitutes in my body due to the many additives, and she leans HEAVILY on these。 If you are one who likes classic recipes and doesn’t mind commercial plant-based meats, however, I think there would be a lot here for you。

This is just a normal cookbook with the word plant-based in front of any meat/dairy ingredient。 Like we don't already do that with non-vegan cookbooks? Would have preferred recipes that utilize the unique properties of meat alternatives rather than simply swapping。 This is just a normal cookbook with the word plant-based in front of any meat/dairy ingredient。 Like we don't already do that with non-vegan cookbooks? This is a beautiful cookbook。。。much nicer than I was expecting。 I won it in a First Reads giveaway, and it is most appreciated。。。thank you! The photographs are gorgeous and the recipes are easy to follow。 I have tried the Spaghetti pie。。。delicious! I love the sauce section too。。。something I refer to often。 I am not really a vegetarian but I try to make vegetarian dishes at least a couple of times a week, using seitan, tofu, and Yves ground round, my personal favorites。 This is an excellent veget This is a beautiful cookbook。。。much nicer than I was expecting。 I won it in a First Reads giveaway, and it is most appreciated。。。thank you! The other recipes I can't wait to dig into are: meatloaf, pad see ew, biscuits and gravy, and Jambalaya。 Time to start cooking! 。。。more

First of all I want to say that this is a beautiful book! It is hardback, pretty much all the recipes have full page photographs so you can see what the finished recipe can look like, and when you open the book, the pages lie flat so you can easily read the recipe while making it。 Almost all the recipes have different protein options listed off to the side so that you don’t have to guess if another protein source would work。 The recipes are detailed enough so that there is no guessing as to whet First of all I want to say that this is a beautiful book! It is hardback, pretty much all the recipes have full page photographs so you can see what the finished recipe can look like, and when you open the book, the pages lie flat so you can easily read the recipe while making it。 Almost all the recipes have different protein options listed off to the side so that you don’t have to guess if another protein source would work。 The recipes are detailed enough so that there is no guessing as to whether you are proceeding correctly。 There is a section that lists how much protein per gram is in different food sources which is very helpful。 Recently I made two vegan recipes from other cookbooks that were substitutes for animal protein, but that had very little nutritional value whatsoever, and definitely no protein。There is enough variety here that there should be something for everyone, even non vegans! There is a chapter on DIY plant proteins in case you want/need to make your own。 Vegan meat substitutes can be expensive and hard to find。 There are two appendices at the back, one listing recipes by protein sources and one for plant-based protein options and brands。 I especially like this one because it lists the main ingredients in the protein sources which can be important for people who have problems with soy or gluten as so many plant-based meat substitutes contain them。 Originally I was going to give this book to my niece as a gift, but I like it too much to give it up! I won this book from Goodreads FirstReads, but this is my honest opinion。 。。。more

Delicious recipes and great ideas。

It’s nice to finally have a plant based diet book focused on protein and willing to incorporate mock meats。 It’s not always easy to simply swap out meat recipes with mock meats。
